WELCOME TO MJ1 RUGBY

At MJ1, we believe in breaking the mould and redefining what it means to be a rugby player. Morgan, my son, is a dedicated 15-year-old prop forward who wants to carve his own path in the world of rugby. His goal is to become a versatile and well-rounded rugby player, comfortable in any situation that arises on the rugby pitch.
Our training philosophy revolves around a concept we call “the middle way,” emphasizing the crucial roles of the first and second receivers in a rugby game. We believe that mastering these positions and understanding their transitions can transform the way the game is played. Through pitch scanning and space exploitation, we teach players how to read the game dynamically and make impactful decisions on the field at an intensity that is hard for the opponent to cope with, while keeping a calm mind.
Our training sessions range from intense drills to strategic training, emphasizing the importance of physical preparation and mental agility.
We focus on holistic development by integrating breath work, movement techniques, and yoga to enhance focus and agility, ultimately increasing the state of flow during game time. Whether it's through enhancing rugby IQ or physical abilities such as strength and conditioning, we strive for the edge in player performance.
Additionally, we prioritize building strong relationships among players, fostering collaboration between different positions, such as forwards and backs. We encourage players to thrive in key areas of the pitch, breaking down the essential skills, movements, and physical attributes required to excel in these positions and transitions on the field. This approach highlights that the rugby pitch is not just a playing field; it is a space for growth and opportunity
“Success is not an accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing.”
